MY APPROACH

Integrating the Art and Science of Psychological Practice

Psychological science provides the foundation for my work, but effective therapy is rarely one-size-fits all. I take an integrative, evidence-based approach, drawing from CBT, DBT, ERP, mindfulness, and psychodynamic perspectives.

I believe that understanding your experiences, relationships, identities, strengths, and values is an important part of understanding what may be most helpful to you.

My goal is to provide a supportive and nonjudgmental space where we can work together toward meaningful and lasting change.

WHAT IS A CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST?

Doctoral Training with a Broader Perspective

Clinical psychologists complete doctoral training in the scientific study, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological concerns. In addition to extensive training in psychotherapy, psychologists receive specialized education in psychological testing, research methods, psychopathology, development, and differential diagnosis.

This breadth of training informs both my assessment and psychotherapy work. It allows me to consider how different aspects of a person’s experiences and functioning may interact—an approach that can be particularly helpful when symptoms overlap, a diagnosis is unclear, previous treatment has not fully helped, or understanding the larger picture is important for determining what may be most helpful.
